Huracán Coffee from Lithuania in August's box

We’re excited to feature Huracán Coffee from Vilnius, Lithuania! Roasting since 1999, they were exploring specialty coffee before it had really taken off in Lithuania and the Baltics. With a strong focus on quality and long-term producer relationships, we’re happy to share their coffees with you this month. Let’s get brewing!

THE BIG DADDY

Origin: Rwanda
Process: Natural
Varieties: Red bourbon
Tasting notes: Raspberries and caramel

The Big Daddy is the nickname of Rugali, the largest and highest-capacity of six coffee processing stations run by a young, innovative and socially responsible Rwandan specialty coffee company. Set on the shores of Lake Kivu among Rwanda’s rolling hills, Rugali has become its flagship. Since 2016, the dedication of the families working there has made the station highly respected, with its coffees repeatedly selected for national and international barista championships.

RIO MAGDALENA

Only in our Tasting box and 2x250g

Origin: Colombia
Process: Washed
Varieties: Castillo naranjal, Caturra, Colombia
Tasting notes: Red apple & almonds

Rio Magdalena comes from Huila, a Colombian coffee region granted Denomination of Origin status in 2013. Set between the Central and Eastern Andes and stretching along the Magdalena River valley, Huila’s varied microclimates and nitrogen-rich volcanic soils support distinctive coffees. Production is dominated by smallholder farmers, many with their own processing facilities, placing a strong focus on quality and giving the region a reputation for complex fruity cups.

CHERRY SEASON

Only in our Tasting box

Origin: Ethiopia
Producer: Guji Smallholder Farmers
Process: Natural
Varieties: Heirloom
Tasting notes: Cherries & honey

Cherry Season comes from Guji, one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee-growing regions. Its high elevations, heirloom Arabica varieties and forested landscape are known for producing bright, floral and juicy coffees. This lot stands out for its clarity and balance rather than extravagance: a classic Guji with a clean, round and tea-like profile, where every element feels in its proper place.

The coffee for August’s box was roasted August 25th.
